General Haulage

General haulage is the backbone activity and the core expertise within Eddie Stobart Ltd. The customer base includes many household brands from both UK blue chip companies and multi-national FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) customers.

Eddie Stobart's General Haulage - Some of the UK fleet of trucks ESL’s commitment to the highest service standards and reputation for flexibility and ‘can-do’ attitude maintains its position in the market place. The skills of ESL drivers, planners and operational staff out in the field ensure our customer's products are delivered intact and on time at the customer's sites; whether the final delivery point be a retail location, a dedicated distribution warehouse, a manufacturing plant or a building site.

The fleet that consists of 950 trucks and 1,500 trailers is strategically located at our depots throughout the country allowing ESL to serve customers efficiently and effectively 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The trucks, from various manufacturers, are always top of the range with specifications to meet both the needs of driver’s and ESL customers. Trailers, whilst outwardly similar, are in many cases built to meet the needs of specific customers by varying internal heights and fittings; other dimensions are maintained to ensure ‘general haulage’ capability and integrity.

Driver Planning Offices The fleet is managed by a central professional team that has been granted ISO 9001 accreditation. ESL has over 1000 drivers working various shift patterns; which are tailored to specific customer needs such as weekend and night deliveries many of which are ‘just-in-time’ to meet customers distribution deadlines. ESL is renowned for the appearance of both its vehicles and drivers; always endeavouring to set the standard that other transport companies aspire to.

Although the core expertise lies in full load consignments, Eddie Stobart also offers full load consolidation services to meet customer’s needs for multi-location deliveries.
